Since the massacre at Newtown there have been more than a dozen shootings on school campuses across North America. The time is now for positive dialogue to identify solutions that will protect young people in their classrooms. Parents must have a high level of comfort that their children will be safe when they send them to school. Sadly the soon to be published book – Keep Kids Safe – clearly demonstrates that school shootings, although relatively rare, can happen anywhere at any time. The safety of our children isn’t something we can leave in the hands of politicians, but we must all seek the solutions that are necessary to greatly improve the safety and security of eduational facilities and ensure that students are protected in their classrooms.
