The 490 page book – Keep Kids Safe – will be available through Amazon.com on August 1, 2013. It contains background on numerous school shootings across North America and other parts of the world and reveals details of what’s needed to help communities cope with such tragedies. From the first recorded school shooting in the late 1500s to several that have occurred in 2013, the book gives background on how these crime scenes are managed by law enforcement, the role of the clergy to help communities heal and what has led up to some of these senseless acts of horror. Today we not only must be concerned about a deranged gunman finding his way into a classroom, but terrorists carrying out their savagery on vulnerable victims. The book calls for national dialogue or an international symposium to examine the root causes of school shootings and to find solutions to improve safety and security in schools and to protect students from harm.
